Persian Rug Runners
Oriental rug runners are generally long and narrow. Persian rug runners are increasingly popular in kitchens and as one of several scatter rugs in a space. Runners have always been popular for long, narrow spaces such as hallways, and stairways or even to hang on a wall.
Hand Knotted Oriental Runners
If you are looking for a tribal rug runner we have several Caucasian, Turkish and Kurdish rugs to choose from. The older antique runners are not always perfectly symmetrical due to them being hand woven pieces of art. Any imperfections noted by us in our rugs are mentioned in the product description or photos. Runners produced by nomadic tribes were woven on portable horizontal looms. These looms have a fixed width which restricts the width of the carpet, but there is no limit to the length the carpet could be. These looms can be dismantled for transport allowing the weaver to continue working on the same rug in a different area.
We also have traditional Karaja Persian rug runners for sale and runners with floral or all-over designs with and without medallions. Shop our selection of hand knotted antique and vintage Oriental runners. Our inventory is always changing, so we invite you to check back monthly for new additions. If the runner you love is out of stock or you have not yet found the rug of your dreams please send us a message and we can update you if we get a rug in with your specifications.
