After the destruction of my hard drive I had quite a back log of work to get done. This resulted in a build up of a bunch of beautiful rugs that I am finally listing this week! Some of these rugs are almost 100 years old and feature absolutely stunning color schemes with blues I go crazy for. Without further adeiu, here are some of the hand knotted rugs that have hit the shop this week:
This sweetly worn beauty is a knock-out. With a complementary soft orange and blue color scheme this Serabend will look great with both antique Persian and Caucasian rugs. The botehs themselves are larger than the typical size Serabend boteh adding both character and depth to this piece. Meandering lines and the thick ivory border add a traditional Serabend feel to this stunning rug. If you like antique rugs with a little wear and a lot of character this one is for you. If you are looking for something with a more tribal nature, this antique Persian rug is one of a kind. With a wool pile and cotton foundation featuring a Hamedan style weave this rug has so much going on in the design. Most of the Karaja rugs that come through our shop have the typical red field, blue border and ivory medallions or some mixture of that color scheme. Not this one!
