Lilihan (Lilian) rugs are a type of Persian rug. They are most similar in design and texture to Persian Sarouk rugs. They are single-wefted with a Hamedan weave and woven with Turkish knots. Some have undergone the process of being washed and painted like many Sarouk rugs. Designs normall feature floral motifs and sprays with curvilinear designs. Antique Lilihan rugs are finely woven. They typically have cotton foundations and tones of red or pink in the field and design.
