Lilihan Rugs are a type of Persian rug and are hand-knotted with Turkish knots. They are constructed with a Hamedan weave and usually have a wool pile woven on a cotton foundation. Lilihans are very often "washed and painted" with a darker magenta/purple dye. This rug in particular is unusual because it has not been painted with a reddish field and features more muted color tones.
